What is BPM?
BPM stands for "Beats Per Minute" and is a measure of tempo in music, or can be used to measure heart rate or other periodic events. A higher BPM means a faster tempo.
How to Use
- Simply start tapping any key on your keyboard (e.g., spacebar) or clicking the large button in rhythm.
- After a few taps, the estimated BPM will appear.
- Continue tapping to refine the measurement. The tool usually averages the intervals of your last several taps.
- Use the "Reset" button to clear the current measurement and start over.
- For music, try to tap along with the main beat (e.g., the kick drum or snare).
- For heart rate, find your pulse and tap in sync with each beat.
Tips for Accuracy
- Tap consistently for at least 5-10 seconds.
- The more taps you provide, the more stable and accurate the reading will become.
- The tool often calculates BPM based on the average of the most recent 5-8 tap intervals to provide a rolling, stable value.
